The Bookmobile offers the following materials:
BOOKMOBILE/OUTREACH SERVICES
The Library provides materials for all citizens of Jackson County. Homebound services are provided for individuals in the county who are prevented from using the Library.
The Bookmobile Librarian will provide library service to homebound patrons who qualify by meeting one or more *criteria for eligibility. Homebound services will be provided to qualifying patrons on a first-come, first-serve basis. Service will continue as long as criteria are met and service is desired.
In addition, the Bookmobile Librarian will provide, upon request, deposit collections to the area nursing home, adult day care facilities, low-income housing sites, and other senior citizen’s housing.
The Library will provide specialized programming to area senior agencies, in coordination with the Activity Directors of those facilities. This programming may include book talks, book discussion groups, and other types of programs.
Services to the homebound will be approximately twice per month. Loan periods may also be extended to accommodate the needs of these patrons. There will be a charge for damaged or lost materials.
* CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY
Individuals who are mentally or physically disabled and unable to access the Library
Individuals who are unable to transport Library materials due to physical limitations
Residents of nursing homes or other extended-care facilities
Homeschooled children whose parents are unable to visit the library
