Q:  Can I fax from/ to the library?

A:  We do have fax services available.  Faxing is free if sent locally.  For long distance fax, a charge of $1.00 per page.  To receive a fax, it is $0.20 per sheet.

Q:  What other services are available?

A:  We offer others services at JCPL such as:  Lamination, Premium Photo Printing, Interlibrary Loans.  Call or stop by for details.

Q:  How can I use WiFi?

A:  Public WiFi is available to the public 24/7.  There is a password and can be accessed at the front door.  You can enquire at the front desk as well or call the library if you are outside on library property.

Q:  How can I "Check-Out A Librarian?

A: If you need help with basic technology or references, schedule an appointment with one of the library staff.

Q:  How do I sign-up for a JCPL Library Card?

A:  You may visit the library or go to the library card icon at the top of this webpage.  Follow the prompts.

Q:  How much fines can be on my account?

A:  Fines should be less than $1.00 in order to borrow materials or use library computers.  Make sure to inquire at the front desk.


Q:  How much does it cost for computer prints or copies?

A:  Computers prints and copies are $0.20 per sheet.  When printing from the computer, please use your print preview to make sure your are printing what is needed.  If materials are printed that are not needed, they still must be paid for.  When using the copier, please make sure your original is placed on the window properly.  Follow the arrow in the upper, left-hand side.  

Q:  How many movies and games can I check out?

A:  You may check-out 4 movies and 2 games per household.  Movies and games are checked out for 2 days at a time and cannot be renewed due to limited quantities.  Thursday and Friday are the best days to check-out movies since we do not count the weekend, they are due back on the following Monday.

Q:  Why can't I download an ebook on my LIBBY app?

A:  If your JCPL account has any fines accrued, this service will not allow you to use the ebooks until your JCPL account has been managed.  Please contact JCPL to fix this problem if this occurs.

Q:  What is my username and password for my JCPL account?

A:  Your username is your JPCL Library Card Number located on the back of the card.  Your password is the last 4 digits of that library card number.

Q:  What are late fines for materials I check out?

A:  Books accrue a fine of $0.05 per book/per day.  Movies/Games accrue a fine of $1.00 per movie/game per day.

Q:  How can I  access computers at the library?

A:  Computers are checked-out for 1 hour per day.  Additional time can be alloted with availability.  If you know you will need additional time, please call ahead to work-out details.  Additional time will be dependent if other computers are open and no one is waiting to use computers.

Q:  How can I renew books I check out?

A:  You can renew by calling the library at 606-287-8113 or by visiting OPAC and logging into your library account.

Q:  How can I read ebooks?

A:  With your JCPL Library Card, you can download the LIBBY app to your phone or reading device.  Follow the in-app prompts to set-up your account to enjoy this service.

Q:  How many books can I check out?

A:  You can check out 20 books for 2 weeks at a time and you can renew those check-outs up to 2 times for a total of 6 weeks check out. You must call the library or stop by to renew the books or fines will accrue to your account.
