The genealogy collections belonging to the Library, deal foremost with Jackson County; secondarily with surrounding counties; then finally, with the Commonwealth of Kentucky in general.
All materials located in the Kentucky Room are obtained primarily from private and historical society donations.
The Kentucky Room also houses:
6 loose leaf binders of Jackson County cemeteries (published in 1990s)
38 additional binders of 15 counties surrounding Jackson county
Various other records like obituaries, microfilm documents, deeds, photo collections, and local periodicals.
