The Jackson County Public Library is more than just books! We provide a multitude of services to help our community. Below you can learn more about the services and resources that are available to you.

Notary Public

Our Notary Public is available Monday-Friday, please call for availability. Notary services are available at no cost, but donations to the library are accepted. Please bring a valid photo ID, all signees must be present, and do not sign any documents before arrival.

GED Testing Area

We are an official Pearson Vue Testing center that conducts GED test on Mondays and Friday!

Library of Things

Our Library of Things is growing everyday to include unconventional items! Some of the items we currently have are Fishing Poles with tackle! Toy Lending totes that include themed learning tools and toys for children that you can check out. Games such as corn hole and much more!

Laptop Lending Program

Laptop computers are available to residents who need computer access for completing schoolwork, applying for benefits, and applying for work.

Bookmobile Services

Our Bookmobile is available for residents of Jackson County who are unable to access the Library in person.

Community Rooms

We offer multiple rooms available to reserve for parties, clubs, and large group gatherings. Please inquire at the front desk to reserve a room for your needs.

Checkout-A-Librarian

For one hour appointments, check out one of our Librarians to assist with computer or phone issues, such as creating an email account or writing a resume. This service is by-appointment-only, so please call to set up a time!

Genealogy

Our Kentucky Room offers a multitude of resources to help with your genealogy research.

Maker Space

Our Makerspace has every thing you need to create whatever your imagination can put together with glue and sticks! Art supplies are free if you bring an official assignment from school!

Computer/Printing Services

Although our library materials and community programs will always be free of charge, there is a small charge for these additional services.

Jackson County Public Library District has designated a compliance officer for website disability-related accommodations. The compliance officer has received training in website accessibility and updates the site in accordance with those best practices. Contact our accessibility officer to report an issue.

In addition to testing with users with a wide range of disabilities and coding our website to WCAG standards, Jackson County Public Library District regularly scans its website to ensure ongoing compliance, and makes timely changes to any inaccessible changes, if any are found.
